Stretching

Hi there. We all know that we need to stretch especially the day after we exercise, when we're sore and wish we had :)

Did you know that soreness is a sign that you're getting stronger? In fact when you exercise, the muscle gets little tears in it, and it's when these tears repair, that the muscle gets stronger...
.....but if we can reduce the pain we will.....right?

So, here are some great reasons we should all take a bit of time out after our exercise to stretch.

It can help prevent overuse injuries in athletes. It has been proven to create healthier muscles which have improved range of motion and strength.

It can help reduce muscle soreness  by improving blood flow to the area, and removing lactic acid in the muscles. It helps lengthen out the muscle fibres so the accumulated toxins can flush out.

Stretching helps reduce recovery time by accelerating the synthesis of proteins that make up muscle fibres.

Stretching minimises stress, oxegenating muscles that can tighten. It decompresses the joints, preventing injury and speeding up recovery time.

Stretching can improve your energy levels during your cool down as endorphins are released.......leaving you feeling ENERGISED!  :)

So, go ahead, stretch and let me know how you feel :)
